The air was crusted with a strong mixture of cured spicy duck pieces, grapefruit, durian, milk, cosmetics, perfumes and natural body scents. The space was crowded with a shared long desk pressed against the front wall and fi ve lone bunk beds. On the upper bed were suitcases of all sizes, bags of all shapes and sundries of all colors. The lower bed was entirely occupied by various buckets full of laundry detergents, body lotions, shampoos, gels; and basins with facial cleansers, folded towels, toothbrushes, toothpastes, sponges and mugs. More clothes were hung inside-out with large towels on the sides. A fashionable brand-new handbag hanging from a glued hook was refl ected in a huge mirror that was fi xed above the desk. There was a noticeable Gucci logo in the bottom.
